Superlatives usiamo

Usiamo i superlativi per descrivere il grado più alto o più basso di una qualità in un gruppo. Mostrano che una persona, una cosa o un luogo si distingue sopra tutti gli altri: il più alto, il più interessante, il migliore, il meno costoso.

Di solito usiamo i superlativi quando confrontiamo tre o più persone o cose, o quando il gruppo è chiaro dal contesto.

Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world.
Il Monte Everest è la montagna più alta del mondo.
This is the most useful feature in the app.

Superlatives Forma

I superlativi si formano in modi diversi a seconda dell’aggettivo. Gli aggettivi brevi di solito prendono -est, mentre quelli più lunghi di solito prendono the most. Alcune forme sono irregolari.

short adjective → the + adjective + -est
long adjective → the most + adjective
opposite meaning → the least + adjective

Superlatives Regola

  • Di solito usiamo the prima di un aggettivo superlativo.
    She is the smartest student in the class.
    Lei è la studentessa più intelligente della classe.
  • Usa in prima di luoghi, classi, squadre, città, paesi e gruppi simili. Usa of prima di numeri, pronomi o espressioni come the three, them, all.
    He is the fastest runner in the team.

  • Dopo one of the, usiamo un superlativo + sostantivo plurale.
    This is one of the best books I have ever read.

  • I superlativi sono molto comuni quando si parla di esperienze di vita: il migliore / il peggiore / il più interessante ... che io abbia mai ...
