Present Simple menggunakan

Present Simple digunakan untuk menerangkan tabiat, fakta umum, jadual dan keadaan yang kekal.


  • Tingkah laku dan rutin harian
    I usually drink coffee in the morning.
    Saya biasanya minum kopi pada waktu pagi.
  • Fakta dan kebenaran umum
    Water boils at 100°C.
    Air mendidih pada 100°C.
  • Jadual dan jadual waktu
    The train leaves at 8:30.

  • Situasi kekal atau jangka panjang
    She works in a software company.

Present Simple Peraturan

  • Dalam orang ketiga tunggal (he/she/it), kita menambah -s atau -es.
    He works in an office.
    She watches online courses.
  • Peraturan ejaan bagi orang ketiga tunggal:
    • kata kerja yang berakhir dengan -o, -sh, -ch, -ss, -x → tambah -es
      He goes to the gym.
      She washes the dishes.
    • kata kerja yang berakhir dengan konsonan + y → y menjadi ies
      He studies English every day.
    • kata kerja yang berakhir dengan vokal + y → hanya tambah -s
      She plays tennis on Sundays.
  • Kata keterangan kekerapan biasanya diletakkan sebelum kata kerja utama dan selepas kata kerja to be.
    I always check my email in the morning.
    She is often late for meetings.
  • Present Simple sering digunakan untuk jadual dan acara tetap.
    The meeting starts at 10.
    Our team call takes place every Monday.
  • Sesetengah kata kerja (seperti know, like, love, hate, understand, believe) biasanya tidak digunakan dalam bentuk berterusan.
    I know the answer.
    She likes this app.

Present Simple Penafian

I / you / we / they do not (don’t) + V1
he / she / it does not (doesn’t) + V1

I don’t drink coffee in the evening.
He doesn’t check messages at night.

Present Simple Soalan-soalan

  • Soalan ya/tidak dibentuk dengan kata kerja bantu do dan does.

    Do + I / you / we / they + V1?
    Does + he / she / it + V1?

    Do you work from home?
    Does she work on Sundays?
  • Selepas does, kata kerja utama digunakan dalam bentuk asas (tanpa -s).
    Does she work on Sundays?
    Does he play tennis?
  • Jawapan ringkas:
    Do you like coffee?
    — Yes, I do. / No, I don’t.
    Does he study English?
    — Yes, he does. / No, he doesn’t.
  • Soalan Wh dibentuk dengan kata tanya + do/does.

  • Apabila soalan mengenai subjek, do/does tidak digunakan.
