Present Simple digunakan untuk menyatakan kebiasaan, fakta umum, jadwal, dan keadaan permanen.


  • Kebiasaan dan rutinitas sehari-hari
    I usually drink coffee in the morning.
    Saya biasanya minum kopi di pagi hari.
  • Fakta dan kebenaran umum
    Water boils at 100°C.
    Air mendidih pada suhu 100°C.
  • Jadwal dan tabel waktu
    The train leaves at 8:30.
    Kereta berangkat pada pukul 8.30.
  • Situasi permanen atau jangka panjang
    She works in a software company.

Present Simple Aturan

  • Pada orang ketiga tunggal (he/she/it), kita menambahkan -s atau -es.
    He works in an office.
    She watches online courses.
  • Aturan ejaan untuk orang ketiga tunggal:
    • kata kerja yang berakhir dengan -o, -sh, -ch, -ss, -x → tambahkan -es
      He goes to the gym.
      She washes the dishes.
    • kata kerja yang berakhir dengan konsonan + y → y berubah menjadi ies
      He studies English every day.
    • kata kerja yang berakhir dengan vokal + y → cukup tambahkan -s
      She plays tennis on Sundays.
  • Kata keterangan frekuensi biasanya ditempatkan sebelum kata kerja utama dan setelah kata kerja to be.
    I always check my email in the morning.
    She is often late for meetings.
  • Present Simple sering digunakan untuk jadwal dan peristiwa rutin.
    The meeting starts at 10.
    Our team call takes place every Monday.
  • Beberapa kata kerja (seperti know, like, love, hate, understand, believe) biasanya tidak digunakan dalam bentuk continuous.
    I know the answer.
    She likes this app.

Present Simple Pertanyaan

  • Pertanyaan ya/tidak dibentuk dengan kata kerja bantu do dan does.

    Do + I / you / we / they + V1?
    Does + he / she / it + V1?

  • Setelah does, kata kerja utama digunakan dalam bentuk dasar (tanpa -s).
    Does she work on Sundays?

  • Jawaban singkat:
