Kalbame apie įsivaizduojamas, mažai tikėtinas arba nerealias situacijas dabartyje ar ateityje ir jų galimus rezultatus.

Second Conditional Forma

Second Conditional Taisyklė

  • Dalių tvarka nėra svarbi.
    If the weather didn’t improve, we would stay at home.
    We would stay at home if the weather didn’t improve.
  • Jei sąlygos dalis stovi pirma, po jos rašome kablelį.
    If you studied, you would pass.
    You would pass if you studied.
  • sąlygos sakiniuose su I / he / she / it vartojame were vietoj was
    If I were you, I would change jobs.
    Jei būčiau tavo vietoje, pakeisčiau darbą.
    If he were taller, he would play basketball professionally.
    Jei jis būtų aukštesnis, jis žaistų krepšinį profesionaliai.
    If she were more patient, she would enjoy teaching.
    Jei ji būtų kanteresnė, ji mėgautųsi mokymu.
    If it were warmer today, we would go for a walk.
    Jei šiandien būtų šilčiau, eitume pasivaikščioti.
  • vietoj would galima vartoti modalinius veiksmažodžius: could, might, should

    Jei išvyktume dabar, galėtume atvykti anksčiau.
    If you felt tired, you should rest.
    Jei jauteisi pavargęs, turėtum pailsėti.
  • jungtukas unless = if not
    We wouldn’t go unless it were necessary.
    Mes neitume, jeigu tai nebūtų būtina.

Second Conditional Neigimas

  • sąlygos dalyje: Past Simple + didn't + V
    If he didn't call, I would stay at home.
    Jei jis nebūtų paskambinęs, būčiau likęs namuose.
  • pagrindinėje dalyje: wouldn't + V arba modalinio veiksmažodžio neiginys
    If it rained, we wouldn't go outside.
    Jei ly­tų, neitume į lauką.
    If you tried more, you might not fail.
    Jei labiau pasistengtum, galbūt nesukluptum.

Second Conditional Klausimai

Klausimas sudaromas kaip įprastas klausimas su would, tik lieka šalutinis sakinys su if.
