There is / There are digunakan untuk menyatakan bahawa sesuatu wujud, hadir, atau terletak di suatu tempat. Struktur ini membantu memperkenalkan seseorang, benda, atau objek dalam perbualan.

Bentuknya bergantung pada sama ada kita sedang membicarakan tentang satu benda / kata nama tidak boleh dikira atau lebih daripada satu benda.

There are + plural noun

Terdapat masalah dengan pencetak.

Ada sedikit susu di dalam peti sejuk.

There is / There are Peraturan

  • Terdapat digunakan dengan kata nama tunggal, dan terdapat digunakan dengan kata nama jamak.
    ✅ There is a lamp near the bed.
    ✅ There are two lamps near the bed.
  • Dengan kata nama tidak boleh dikira, kita biasanya menggunakan there is.
    There is enough time.
    Ada masa yang mencukupi.
    There is some information in the email.
    Terdapat beberapa maklumat dalam e-mel itu.
  • Selepas struktur itu, kita sering menambah tempat atau butiran lain: di atas meja, di dalam bilik, di sekolah.

  • Jika senarai hadir selepas struktur itu, kata kerja sering bersetuju dengan kata nama pertama dalam senarai itu.
