Third Conditional használjuk

Egy nem valós múltbeli helyzetről beszélünk: a feltétel nem teljesült, de egy elképzelt eredményt írunk le.

Third Conditional Szabály

  • A részek sorrendje nem számít.
    If you had studied, you would have passed.
    You would have passed if you had studied.
  • Ha a feltételes rész áll elöl, utána vesszőt teszünk.
    If you had studied, you would have passed.
    You would have passed if you had studied.
  • a would have helyett használhatunk modális igéket: could have, might have, should have
    If it had been late, we might have taken a taxi.
    Ha késő lett volna, talán taxival mentünk volna.
    If you had prepared, you could have succeeded.
    Ha felkészültél volna, sikerrel járhattál volna.
    If you had listened, you should have understood everything.
    Ha figyeltél volna, mindent meg kellett volna értened.
  • a kötőszó unless = if not (a múltban)
    We wouldn’t have gone unless it had been necessary.
    Nem mentünk volna el, hacsak nem lett volna szükséges.
  • vegyes feltételes mondatok: múltbeli feltétel + jelenbeli eredmény
    If I had slept more, I would feel better now.
    Ha többet aludtam volna, most jobban érezném magam.

Third Conditional Tagadás

  • az if-mellékmondatban: Past Perfect + hadn’t + V3
    If he hadn’t called, I wouldn’t have gone.
    Ha nem hívott volna, nem mentem volna el.
  • a főmondatban: wouldn’t have + V3 vagy a modális ige tagadása
    If it had rained, we wouldn’t have gone outside.
    Ha esett volna az eső, nem mentünk volna ki.
    If you had studied hard, you might not have failed.
    Ha keményen tanultál volna, lehet, hogy nem buktál volna meg.

Third Conditional Kérdések

Úgy épülnek fel, mint a szokásos would + have kérdések, és megmarad az if (Past Perfect) mellékmondat.

Would + subject + have + V3 + if + Past Perfect?
Wh-word + would + subject + have + V3 + if + Past Perfect?

What would you have done if the app had crashed?
