Third Conditional používame

Hovoríme o nereálnej minulosti: podmienka nenastala, ale opisujeme imaginárny výsledok.

Third Conditional Forma

if-part (Conditional)	main part Result
if + subject + Past Perfect	subject + would have + V3

If + subject + Past Perfect, subject + would have + V3.
Subject + would have + V3 + if + subject + Past Perfect.

If it had rained, I would have stayed at home.
Keby pršalo, zostal by som doma.

Poradie častí nie je dôležité.

If you had studied, you would have passed.

You would have passed if you had studied.
Ak je podmienená časť ako prvá, dávame za ňu čiarku.

If you had studied, you would have passed.

You would have passed if you had studied.
namiesto would have môžeme použiť modálne slovesá: could have, might have, should have
If it had been late, we might have taken a taxi.
Keby bolo neskoro, možno by sme si boli vzali taxík.

If you had prepared, you could have succeeded.
Keby si sa pripravil, mohol si uspieť.

If you had listened, you should have understood everything.
Keby si bol počúval, mal si všetkému porozumieť.
spojka unless = if not (v minulosti)
We wouldn’t have gone unless it had been necessary.
Nešli by sme, keby to nebolo nevyhnutné.
zmiešané podmienky: minulá podmienka + súčasný výsledok
If I had slept more, I would feel better now.
Keby som bol viac spal, teraz by som sa cítil lepšie.

Third Conditional Negácia

v if-časti: Past Perfect + hadn’t + V3
If he hadn’t called, I wouldn’t have gone.
Keby nezavolal, nebola by som išla.
v hlavnej časti: wouldn’t have + V3 alebo zápor модálneho slovesa
If it had rained, we wouldn’t have gone outside.
Keby pršalo, neboli by sme išli von.

If you had studied hard, you might not have failed.
Keby si sa bol usilovne učil, možno by si nebol neuspel.

Third Conditional Otázky

Tvoria sa ako bežné otázky s would + have a zostáva vedľajšia veta s if (Past Perfect).

Would + subject + have + V3 + if + Past Perfect?
Wh-word + would + subject + have + V3 + if + Past Perfect?

What would you have done if the app had crashed?
Čo by si urobil, keby sa aplikácia zrútila?

Where would you have gone if you had moved abroad?
Kam by si bol išiel, keby si sa bol presťahoval do zahraničia?

Who would you have invited if you had organized a party?
Koho by si pozval, keby si organizoval večierok?

Why would she have been upset if you hadn’t written?
Prečo by bola bývala nahnevaná, keby si nenapísal?

How would you have felt if you had lost your phone?
Ako by si sa cítil, keby si stratil svoj telefón?
