Third Conditional kullanıyoruz

Gerçek olmayan bir geçmişten bahsediyoruz: şart gerçekleşmedi, ama hayali bir sonucu anlatıyoruz.

Third Conditional Form

Third Conditional Kural

  • Bölümlerin sırası önemli değildir.
    If you had studied, you would have passed.
    You would have passed if you had studied.
  • Koşullu kısım önce gelirse, ardından virgül koyarız.
    If you had studied, you would have passed.
    You would have passed if you had studied.
  • would have yerine modal fiiller kullanılabilir: could have, might have, should have
    If it had been late, we might have taken a taxi.
    Geç olsaydı taksiye binmiş olabilirdik.
    If you had prepared, you could have succeeded.
    Hazırlansaydın, başarılı olabilirdin.
    If you had listened, you should have understood everything.
    Dinleseydin, her şeyi anlamış olmalıydın.
  • bağlaç unless = if not (geçmişte)
    We wouldn’t have gone unless it had been necessary.
    Gerekli olmasaydı gitmezdik.
  • karışık şart cümleleri: geçmiş şart + şimdiki sonuç
    If I had slept more, I would feel better now.
    Daha fazla uyumuş olsaydım, şimdi kendimi daha iyi hissederdim.

Third Conditional Olumsuzluk

  • if kısmında: Past Perfect + hadn’t + V3
    If he hadn’t called, I wouldn’t have gone.
    Aramamış olsaydı gitmezdim.
  • ana cümlede: wouldn’t have + V3 veya bir modal fiilin olumsuzu
    If it had rained, we wouldn’t have gone outside.
    Yağmur yağsaydı dışarı çıkmazdık.
    If you had studied hard, you might not have failed.
    Sıkı çalışsaydın, belki de başarısız olmazdın.

Third Conditional Sorular

Bunlar would + have ile kurulan normal sorular gibidir ve if (Past Perfect) yan cümlesi kalır.

Would + subject + have + V3 + if + Past Perfect?
Wh-word + would + subject + have + V3 + if + Past Perfect?

What would you have done if the app had crashed?
Uygulama çökmüş olsaydı ne yapardın?
Where would you have gone if you had moved abroad?
