Third Conditional folosim

Vorbim despre un trecut ireal: condiția nu s-a întâmplat, dar descriem un rezultat imaginar.

Third Conditional Formă

if-part

If it had rained, I would have stayed at home.
Dacă ar fi plouat, aș fi stat acasă.

Third Conditional Regulă

  • Ordinea părților nu contează.
    If you had studied, you would have passed.
    You would have passed if you had studied.
  • Dacă partea condițională este prima, punem o virgulă după ea.
    If you had studied, you would have passed.
    You would have passed if you had studied.
  • se pot folosi verbe modale în loc de would have: could have, might have, should have
    If it had been late, we might have taken a taxi.
    Dacă ar fi fost târziu, poate că am fi luat un taxi.
    If you had prepared, you could have succeeded.
    Dacă te-ai fi pregătit, ai fi putut reuși.
    If you had listened, you should have understood everything.
    Dacă ai fi ascultat, ar fi trebuit să înțelegi totul.
  • conjuncția unless = if not (în trecut)
    We wouldn’t have gone unless it had been necessary.
    Nu am fi mers dacă nu ar fi fost necesar.
  • condiționale mixte: condiție trecută + rezultat prezent
    If I had slept more, I would feel better now.
    Dacă aș fi dormit mai mult, m-aș simți mai bine acum.

Third Conditional Negație

  • în propoziția cu if: Past Perfect + hadn’t + V3
    If he hadn’t called, I wouldn’t have gone.
    Dacă nu m-ar fi sunat, nu m-aș fi dus.
  • în propoziția principală: wouldn’t have + V3 sau negația unui verb modal
    If it had rained, we wouldn’t have gone outside.
    Dacă ar fi plouat, nu am fi ieșit afară.
    If you had studied hard, you might not have failed.
    Dacă ai fi studiat din greu, poate că nu ai fi picat.

Third Conditional Întrebări

Se formează ca întrebările obișnuite cu would + have, iar propoziția cu if (Past Perfect) rămâne.

Would + subject + have + V3 + if + Past Perfect?
Wh-word + would + subject + have + V3 + if + Past Perfect?

What would you have done if the app had crashed?
Ce ai fi făcut dacă aplicația s-ar fi blocat?
Where would you have gone if you had moved abroad?
Unde te-ai fi dus dacă te-ai fi mutat în străinătate?
Who would you have invited if you had organized a party?
Pe cine ai fi invitat dacă ai fi organizat o petrecere?
Why would she have been upset if you hadn’t written?
De ce s-ar fi supărat dacă nu i-ai fi scris?
How would you have felt if you had lost your phone?
Cum te-ai fi simțit dacă ți-ai fi pierdut telefonul?

Third Conditional Greșeli tipice

❌ If it would have rained, we would have canceled.
✅ If it had rained, we would have canceled.
❌ I wouldn’t have come if he wouldn’t have called.
✅ I wouldn’t have come if he hadn’t called.
❌ Past Simple в if-части: If he didn’t call, …
✅ Past Perfect в if-части: If he hadn’t called, …

Third Conditional Propoziții

If you had finished the report on time, we would have sent it yesterday.
Dacă ai fi terminat raportul la timp, l-am fi trimis ieri.
If he hadn’t been late, the meeting would have started on time.
Dacă nu ar fi întârziat, ședința ar fi început la timp.
If the weather had been better, we would have had a picnic.
Dacă vremea ar fi fost mai bună, am fi făcut un picnic.

Dacă ar fi știut răspunsul, ni l-ar fi spus.
If yesterday had been a day off, we would have gone to the countryside.
